ACCAD Again Well Represented at SIGGRAPH 2009

Synchronous Objects

Maria Palazzi (ACCAD) and Norah Zuniga-Shaw (Dance/ACCAD) were invited to present the Synchronous Objects project during the Information Aesthetics Showcase, a new focus area at the SIGGRAPH 2009 computer animation conference. SIGGRAPH was held in New Orleans, LA from August 2-7, 2009. Matthew Bain, (ACCAD alum now working at DreamWorks Animation) presented at SIGGRAPH -  See What You Feel: A Study in the Visual Extension of Music (performance and talk). This was a live performance of abstract animations of music re-rendered in Maya, 3D visualizations of music-theory structures, and real-time systems that visually react to live music. Matt discussed the music system used in this performance.
